Given the stakes involved, the American people need to understand the clear choice they face regarding this issue. On the one hand, they may support the current policy and remain vulnerable to missile attacks. On the other hand, they may want to have the government deploy a defensive system for countering ballistic missiles. Common sense would dictate a choice in favor of defense. Indeed, the choice seems so obvious that many Americans believe such a defense is already in place even though they remain completely vulnerable.vbcrlf Defenders of the current policy are trying to convince the American people that there is no alternative to vulnerability.
