According to our poll, two-thirds of all Americans believe our country is on the wrong track--and most say America's troubles stem more from moral decline than from economic problems.
In fact, only 18 percent of those who believe America is on the wrong track say the primary reason is because "the economy is weak and people can't seem to find good jobs." Conversely, 61 percent cite "the breakdown in the family and a decline in values."
What makes this finding so interesting is that, traditionally, attitudes about the country's direction and measurements of economic growth have tracked together. Now, for the first time in memory, they are moving in opposite directions.

...ty (by passage of a constitutional amendment prohibiting discrimination against religious expression and worship) would free people of faith to pursue social action in their communities without having to secularize their programs.
These steps alone won't put America back on the right track. But they will facilitate the kind of cultural renewal Americans believe to be so desperately needed.
