Recently, the New Jersey Department of Human Services contracted with an Arizona-based company to service paperwork for the state's welfare recipients at a savings of $326,000 per month. The Arizona corporation ships the work to Bombay, India.
On March 23, 2003, Washington Technology announced, "Computer Sciences Corp. has completed the acquisition of DynCorp, further solidifying the company's position as one of the top 10 government information technology contractors." On June 20, 2003, Cyber India Online quoted a Reuters article announcing that CSC was sending much of its work to India and adding 800 employees to its Bangalore plant.

U.S. citizens deserve better than laws legalizing theft, or selling American jobs. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was a start. It helps ensure more transparency and accountability between corporations and accounting firms. What we need next is similar legislation that applies to those members of Congress who, like the executives of Arthur Anderson, betrayed their sacred trust for financial gain.
