A booming crack of thunder jolts me awake. Disoriented, staring out at the darkness around me, I try to remember where I am. When the light from a bolt of lightning flashes across the tiny room, I can see the floral curtains of a small window and narrow bunk illuminated across from me. Now I remember. I'm sleeping on a boat in Venice, Italy.
